DESCRIPTION:
ADLab has discovered a vulnerability in KMPlayer, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing
the "Title" entry within playlist files. This can be exploited to
cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted KPL file.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.0.0.1441. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted playlist (".kpl") files.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
ADLab, VenusTech via Secunia.
