DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Microsoft Windows, which can
be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an indexing error in the
win32k.sys driver when loading a keyboard layout file. This can be
exploited to access an invalid memory location resulting in a system
crash.
The vulnerability is confirmed on a fully patched Windows XP SP3
(win32k.sys version 5.1.2600.6149). Other versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
