DESCRIPTION:
Anastasios Monachos has reported a security issue in LevelOne
WBR-3560A, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
vulnerably device.
The problem is that the device provides a telnet service on port
23/TCP, which can be accessed without any user authentication. This
can be exploited to e.g. disclose the administrator's password for
the web interface or to manipulate certain files on file system.
The vulnerability is reported in firmware versions 1.00.11 and
1.00.12.
SOLUTION:
The vendor is working on a fix and will reportedly issue a firmware
update on 2008-01-18.
