DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Mahara, which can be exploited
by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed as uploaded HTML files to the "File" form field in My
Portfolio -> Files -> Upload File is not properly sanitised before
being stored. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and
script code, which is executed in a user's browser session in context
of an affected site when the malicious HTML file is viewed.
Successful exploitation requires that both the victim and the
attacker have valid user credentials.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 0.9.0. Prior versions may
also be affected.
