DESCRIPTION:
Alexander Klink has reported a vulnerability in Apache-SSL, which can
be exploited by malicious people to manipulate certain data or to
disclose potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "ExpandCert()"
function when processing client certificates. This can be exploited
to set arbitrary environment variables and disclose potentially
sensitive memory via '/' and '=' characters in the relative
distinguished name.
The vulnerability is reported in apache_1.3.34+ssl_1.57. Other
versions prior to apache_1.3.41+ssl_1.59 may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to apache_1.3.41+ssl_1.59.
