DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Novell iPrint Client, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the
"IppGetDriverSettings2()" function in nipplib.dll when processing the
"GetDriverSettings()" method provided by the ienipp.ocx ActiveX
control. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow
via an overly long "printerUri" argument.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 5.52. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
